The Digital Pen is Mightier Than The Sword

USGIF member, Adapx, recently announced some very innovative uses of its Capturx software for digital pens. The company recently came out with a case study about the City of Nashua successfully deploying Capturx for ArcGIS during a recent terrorist drill. The unique application enables designs, maps, and forms to be printed on ordinary paper, marked up with a digital pen, and then simply integrates that data directly into popular Microsoft Office, GIS, and CAD applications.

ERDAS Embraces Web 2.0 with ERDAS TV

We are always excited to tout uses of social media and Web 2.0 tools in our community. USGIF member, ERDAS, recently launched its ERDAS TV, which is a section on www.erdas.com that features informative videos that capture development news and other happenings at ERDAS. These movies (or webisodes) are three to eight minutes in length. ERDAS uses its own YouTube account and integrates the videos onto the ERDAS TV section of its corporate web site. DNI McConnell Officially Resigns; Rehash of Vision for 2025 from GEOINT 2008

It’s official. As of yesterday, Mike McConnell is no longer the Director of National Intelligence. According the DNI’s press office, Lt. Gen. Ronald L. Burgess, Jr. is temporarily serving as acting DNI. Burgess is to become the next director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. It made sense that he would submit his resignation, since it was announced on the same day that he would be rejoining Booz Allen.

Former Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee Calls Panetta “Right One to Repair CIA”
