After Showdown About C.I.A. Interrogation Techniques, Pelosi Popularity Declines
Added by USGIF Category: Daily Intelligence Brief
Our reader may recall our coverage last month — thank you all for the colorful comments — of the showdown between the C.I.A. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) over what she knew about C.I.A. interrogation techniques. Well, it seems that as a result there has been some backlash: her popularity has plummeted. According to a Washington Post/ABC News poll, only 38 percent of Americans approve of Pelosi’s performance as speaker, while 45 percent disapprove of her performance — the lowest approval rating Pelosi has received in the Post/ABC poll. What do you all think? Do you think the dip in approval had to do with her dust-up with the C.I.A.? It certainly did not help!
