Air Force One Photo Opp Over Manhattan Causes Brief Panic

In a head-scratching marketing move today, the U.S. government staged a photo shoot of Air Force One being trailed by a couple of fighter jets. And needless to say, it created a panic of pretty significant proportions with folks working in downtown Manhattan — many thinking another 9/11 was happening on this warm spring day. Although the FAA said they notified law enforcement about the photo shoot, perhaps they should have tipped off the media in advance of the exercise as well??

Head-scratching? It is downright shameful that they went out of their way to keep this under wraps. This was not thought through at all and Bloomberg had every right to be pissed along with the thousands of others who did nothing to deserve having this situation thrust upon them.
This is one news item that is completely non-partisan.
