Added by USGIF Category: Daily Intelligence Brief, General
It was certainly one of the most significant historical events to happen in many of our life times. For many of us, it was the first time we felt vulnerable as a nation, and the concept of rogue nations and terrorists wanting to hurt us — on our own soil — became painfully real. In two days, our nation will be marking the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which was a series of coordinated suicide attacks by Al-Qaeda upon the United States killed 2,993 innocent people. For those of us wanting to mark the occasion, we have pulled together the following list of events happening around our great nation:

9/11 anniversary is a time for reflection and a time to give back. We embrace President Obama’s desire to brand this day as the “National Day of Service.” It is a time when we all can take stock in what we have and give back to the community to help out those less fortunate.
