As we covered before, there are plenty of people applauding Obama’s decision to go with Panetta and others completely down on it. This is is DC after all. Did we expect everyone to agree that he is the ideal candidate for the position? Has there ever been complete harmony on major decisions like these? Probably not, but hey, this is what makes politics interesting.

Although it does seem that Obama did a very big political “no-no” by not consulting with Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and other congressional leaders on the Intel committee. So much so that Vice President-elect Joseph Biden Jr. had to do a little clean up and acknowledged this “mistake.” To read more about this, check out this Washington Post article.
