Breaking News: House Rejects Probe into Pelosi CIA Claims

Today, House Democrats defeated a Republican push to investigate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s claims that the CIA misled her in 2002 about whether waterboarding had been used against terrorism suspects. The House voted 252-172 to block the measure that would have created a bipartisan congressional panel. Pelosi was not present for the vote today as she was giving a commencement speech at John’s Hopkins University. Her spokesperson said that the proposed probe was an attempt at partisan politics that distracts from real issues. Read more about it here.

I am always amazed at just how hard people try to cover up the real issues with ancillary or secondary topics, but I should not be. They give their all to expose others, but deny deny deny that they themselves have done anything wrong when the evidence is clearly stacked against them.
This “push to investigate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi” is an ancillary issue. Her opponents see her as vulnerable and a soft target. Ms. Pelosi actually requested a thorough investigation to prove her claims. I guess we should not be surprised the House defeated the push. This is another reason to keep copious, accurate and detailed notes in the important meetings you attend.
