C.I.A. Recruitment Efforts on Campus; Build It Into The Curriculum
Added by USGIF Category: Daily Intelligence Brief, General
We certainly have been focusing plenty of attention on the intelligence community recruitment news — especially targeting young people. Hey, it’s a worthy cause to promote the next generation of intelligence leaders. So, when we stumbled upon this story, we had to continue with our coverage in this vein. The C.I.A. has partnered with University of Southern California to have marketing classes develop their own PR campaigns to promote – of all things – the C.I.A.’s recruitment efforts.
Perhaps these efforts were sparked by the recent coverage about intelligence community recruiters being met with apathy on campus? And, it is possible that this is part of their larger recruitment efforts that we covered yesterday (big thanks to those who provided comments!).
The bottom-line is that most corporations are tied into universities and offer similar curriculum-based efforts. Most MBA programs involve these kinds of real-life projects…and the corporate world benefits by getting fresh ideas from students. It’s a win-win for everyone and it makes sense for the C.I.A. to take advantage of these same opportunities.
