Welcome to the Friday’s Food for Thought post from got geoint? As the first ever GEO HUNT is kicking off on the National Mall as we speak, it made us realize that humans are driven by the need to search. Whether you are searching for spiritual enlightenment, love or information on a great local Mexican restaurant, we have a drive to seek out information, which can ultimately make us better people. And, GEOINT is often the foundation for seeking and finding the information that helps us make better decisions, whether in life, love or on the battlefield. So, this week’s FFT post is all about search. Oh, and today is the deadline for the USGIF Awards Program!
GEO HUNT is Happening Right Now
Today, the USGIF Young Professionals Group (YPG) is hosting its first GEO HUNT educational exploration event on National Mall in Washington, DC. YPG volunteers are guiding and leading teams of children from the Greater Washington Boys and Girls Club through the exploration event, provide answers to clues, as well as give an overview of maps and geospatial intelligence. Do you all remember the totally mind-blowing TV show “In Search Of…”?
