Friday’s Food for Thought: Earth Day and We Got a Call About a Movie

Added by USGIF Category: Friday's Food for Thought, General

Happy Friday. It has been quite a week for the intelligence and defense communities. From the political fall-out of the Obama administration releasing the interrogation memos to the breach of the Joint Strike Fighter program, it has been a week rife with drama. I’m sure many are ready for the weekend to begin, and enjoy the nice weather. Speaking of weather and the environment, we neglected to pay homage to Earth Day this week. As such, we are expanding upon the theme of last month’s “Big Blue Marble” FFT post. Oh, and we have a few miscellaneous items to tickle your frontal lobe. Scroll down and enjoy.

We Got Called About A Movie

The editorial staff at got geoint? typically gets calls and emails regarding company news and announcements. So, when we were pitched to do a story about a movie looking for funding from defense contractors, we certainly took note and wanted to help them spread the word. The film is called “Bring Me Men” from SummitWorks Films and is about the first female cadets who entered the US Air Force Academy in 1976, proving they could beat the odds and went on to excel in military and space careers. This is the first ever film to be approved by the DoD/Pentagon for filming at the US Air Force Academy site in Colorado Springs. So, all you readers out there from Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems and Northrup Grumman, they need some funding. We recommend you check out this opportunity! Learn more here.

Yes, finally an application/game we can get into. Check it out here.

EcoMap did not debut yet: “The interactive technology won’t be available to San Francisco users until mid-May, but residents can check out a video that explains the Web site and how to use it starting today.”
