Friday’s Food for Thought: Fast Delivery and Access

Added by USGIF Category: Daily Intelligence Brief, Friday's Food for Thought, General

Welcome to the Friday’s Food for Thought post from got geoint? Earlier this week we did a post about providing raw GEOINT data in real time to the warfighter. And, based on reader comments, this is a good move. So, we thought to ourselves…hmmm…it’s all about fast delivery and access to information. Why not do a FFT post on the concept of fast delivery and speed? Hey, what can we say? We are always looking for linkages between real GEOINT news and what is entertaining. So, strap on your seat belts and take a ride with us as we explore all things “fast.” And, don’t worry, we did not provide any clips from the Keanu Reeve’s 1994 hit movie “Speed.” That would be too easy.

Who Is The Fastest Super Hero?
We will probably open a can of worms when we throw out this question. But, really who is the fastest super hero? It is the age-old question that has tormented man since the beginning of time. Well, it is not that profound…but we thought we would explore this further. Is it Superman? Is it Flash? If you said Flash, you are correct. Superman can move faster than a speeding bullet, but Flash could move in the speed of light. According to this Yahoo! Answers discussion, that’s 186,282.397 miles per second, and even more Flash could break laws of physics and could actually be at two places at once. Take that Superman.

World’s Fastest Car?
Since we are talking about the fastest super hero, why not dive in the much-disputed-topic amongst-car-nerds about what is the fastest car? Well, according to Supercars.org, the SSC Ultimate Aero is the fastes car topping out at 257 mph and can reach 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. That’s pretty fast. It has a Twin-Turbo V8 Engine with 1183 hp and the base price is only $654,400. Mere pocket change just to own the fastest car in the world.

Ever Google the Word “Fast”?
Have you ever Google the term “fast”? Neither had we. And guess what comes up at the top. A company that makes fuel air spark technology called Fast. Since this company was innovative enough to purchase the search term “fast,” and heck, they named their company “fast,” we thought they deserved a shout out on our much-loved blog. So, if you need high-quality, race-car grade fuel injection systems, EFI Systems, throttle bodies and more, we recommend you check out their site and break out your credit card.

World’s Fastest Deliver in Cricket
Much like our got geoint? readers, we are huge fans of the sport Cricket. Just kidding. Does anyone in American actually know how to play it? Would you even know how to follow it if you caught it on ESPN 2? We think not. But that does not keep us from showing the “world’s fastest delivery” in Cricket. What is “a delivery” you ask? To put it in American baseball terms, it is equivalent to a pitch – we think. Here it is…the world’s fastest delivery clocked at 100.2 mph.

Happy Friday!
