GEOINT Community Week: Something Big Always Happens!

Added by Category: Daily Intelligence Brief, General

It seems that around this time of year something major happens in the GEOINT sector. Last year, the “Father of GEOINT,” James R. Clapper, was nominated by President Obama to to be next the Director of National Intelligence — which coincidentally happened on the same day as the 2010 USGIF GEOGala. To top it off, General Clapper actually came to the GEOGala and spoke about being nominated earlier that day — it was very exciting. Well, how can we top that in 2011? Oh yes, the GEOINT sector played a major role in bringing down Osama Bin Laden, just one week prior to the 2011 GEOINT Community Week. So, let’s do a quick run down of all the things going on next week, and we look forward to seeing you all there!

The USGIF Workshop Series brings together the GEOINT Community to discuss relevant issues in tradecraft, innovation and the community. Ranging in size from less than 25 to more than 100 participants, the workshops tackle topics that span the defense, intelligence and homeland security communities.
