Intelligence Failures One of President Bush’s Biggest Regrets
Added by USGIF Category: Daily Intelligence Brief
As he approaches the very last days of his presidency, President Bush seems to be in more of a reflective mood — addressing areas of that could have been improved upon when he was in office. On Monday, he said that the “biggest regret” in his eight-year administration was the intelligence failure in Iraq.
In an interview with Charlie Gibson that aired on Monday night, President Bush had this to say about the intelligence failures:
“I don’t know — the biggest regret of all the presidency has to have been the intelligence failure in Iraq. A lot of people put their reputations on the line and said the weapons of mass destruction is a reason to remove Saddam Hussein. It wasn’t just people in my administration; a lot of members in Congress, prior to my arrival in Washington D.C., during the debate on Iraq, a lot of leaders of nations around the world were all looking at the same intelligence. And, you know, that’s not a do-over, but I wish the intelligence had been different, I guess.”
Needless to say, it will be an interesting next couple of months as Obama begins to ramp up with intelligence team and deals with past intel challenges, as well as faces global terrorism threats that occurred in India. We will continue to cover this in the coming months.

Utter nonsense.
Bush had arrogantly decided to invade Iraq & cherry-picked questionable intelligence to support his decision.
He used Colin Powell’s reputation to sell this disaster.
IF Saddam Hussein had WMD, why did not he use them when
the US & allies invaded? Hussein could have inflicted considerable damage on his enemies. At very least, use them & loose them.
Conclusion: No WMD.
Sincerely,
JS
