Welcome to the Monday Morning News Kick Off post from got geoint? We hope everyone had a restful weekend and is ready to kick the work week into high gear. For this week’s MMNKO (we still love that acronym) post, we have a number of GEOINT-related stories, including a Washington Post story on GeoEye, as well as a Post Op-Ed by Thomas Fingar and Mary Margaret Graham. Friday’s Food for Thought: “Location-Aware” Lifestyle, GeoEye-1 Inaugural Images, Blair’s Senate Select Committee

Hope everyone had a productive and eventful week. I believe many of us were tied up in inaugural events earlier in the week — with the latter part of the week focused on getting some work done (and recovering from all the inaugural-related activity). Member News: DigitalGlobe and Aegis Team for ‘ImageScape,’ and Images of the Inauguration

Now that we have recovered from the whirlwind inaugural festivities, we wanted to focus this morning on USGIF member news. First up, DigitalGlobe announced that it is partnering with Aegis Technologies Group to launch ImageScape, which is a rapid 3D imagery system. According to the Digital Globe press release, the new technology will provide governments, enterprises and developers with the capability to create simulations of any location in the world.
