NOAA Mobile App Delivers Aerial and Satellite Imagery to Emergency Responders

It’s no secret that our weather is changing at a radical pace. The fact that we had a major snow storm on east coast in October is a sign that we no longer live in a predictable world when it comes to weather. As we saw at GEOINT 2011, the ability to better manage, predict and respond to natural disasters is vital to saving lives – and geospatial intelligence serves as the foundation dealing with any environmental challenge. In an effort to help better manage these situations, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Geodetic Survey created a new mobile application that delivers aerial and satellite imagery to emergency crews in the wake of natural disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes.
