Friday’s Food for Thought: Yes, the Community Does Have Talent

Welcome to the Friday’s Food for Though post from got geoint? This week, KippsDeSanto & Co. presented “The Community’s Got Talent,” which was an invitation-only battle of the bands to benefit The CIA Officers Memorial Foundation (CIAOMF) and The Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF). Hosted by Dan Aykroyd, the event showcased the musical talent of IC and the SOF. And, let’s just say that, the community does have talent. Most people who are very smart (i.e., members of the IC of course), tend to be multi-layered and have many diverse talents — beyond what they do to protect our nation. So, the theme of this week’s FFFT post is all about the concept of being multi-talented. Speaking of talent, USGIF has just opened up its 2012 Scholarship application process. GEOINT 2009 Officially Kicks Off With Jeff “Skunk” Baxter

SkunkWell, the time has finally come and GEOINT 2009 is happening as we speak. The editorial team of got geoint? was fortunate enough to just witness the opening ceremonies and the experience was nothing short of awe inspiring. Legendary guitarist Jeff “Skunk” Baxter opened things up with a highly melodious version of the “America The Beautiful” – a surprise to us all. Every year, USGIF outdoes itself when it comes to GEOINT, and this year tops the tops. For those of you who missed this, we will be posting video of his performance very shortly.
