Welcome once again to the Wednesday GEOINT 2008 Video. Last week we took a break to cover the most successful GEOINT Tech Days. Well, this post is back in full force! For this week’s installment, we have posted the keynote by General C. Robert “Bob” Kehler, U.S. Air Force, Commander, Air Force Space Command. You all may recall that General Kehler sat down with us after this keynote in Nashville and discussed his potentially game-changing vision of building a separate space platform for intelligence and one for the warfighter and integrating both on the ground. U.S. Airborne Intelligence Capabilities Tripled in Afghanistan and Increased 150 Percent in Iraq

Last week, Air Force Col. Eric J. Holdaway held a press teleconference from the Combined Air Operations Center at Al Udeid air base in Qatar, and provided details about the use of airborne intelligence in the recent successful U.S. airstrike in Iraq’s Diyala province killed a group of al-Qaeda fighters. The key to making this strike a success, especially when al-Qaeda hide within the general population, was the use of airborne intelligence combined with human intelligence.
