USGIF Lifetime Achievement Award: Charles Allen, Former Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Intelligence and Analysis

AllenUPDATEToday, USGIF announced that the winner of its illustrious Lifetime Achievement Award is none other than Mr. Charles Allen, Former Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Intelligence and Analysis. Many consider Mr. Allen a pillar of intelligence community and who has had a highly notable career with DHS and CIA, and has truly shaped how we protect our nation.

In August 2005, President George W. Bush appointed Charles E. Allen, to the dual role of Assistant Secretary for Information Analysis at the Department of Homeland Security as well as the DHS Chief of Intelligence. In 2007, Mr. Allen’s position was elevated to Under Secretary for the renamed Office of Intelligence and Analysis at DHS, an office he held until January 20, 2009. Prior to his appointment to DHS, Allen served as Special Assistant to the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Mr. Allen follows in the footsteps of previous Lifetime Achievement Award winners including Leo Hazlewood, James Clapper and Evan Hineman.
