USGIF Technology Day: Exhibitor News Round Up

USGIF Technology Day is really all about what it is billed as: technology. While walking the exhibit hall floor getting briefings from the exhibitors, we can’t help but think that innovation is still key. And, this is merely a taste of what is to come with regards to the GEOINT 2010 Symposium. So, we tried to speak with as many exhibitors as possible and have pulled together highlights from the floor in this post. We hope you enjoy.

NAVTEQ Expands Agreement with National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)
NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of maps, traffic and location data enabling navigation, location-based services and mobile advertising around the world, announces at the 2010 USGIF Tech Days Conference (NAVTEQ Booth #307) that their agreement with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Homeland Security Infrastructure Program (HISP) has been extended to provide State and Local Homeland Security Responders access to NGA HSIP applications using NAVTEQ map data. Applied Imagery Showcases Quick Terrain Modeler
Our friends at Applied Imagery were showcasing Quick Terrain Modeler, which is the world’s premier 3D point cloud and terrain visualization software package. Designed for use with LiDAR, but flexible enough to accommodate other 3D data sources, Quick Terrain Modeler provides an easy to use software experience that allows users to work with significantly more data, render larger models, analyze data faster, and export a variety of products. ObjectFX Highlights SpatialRULES
ObjectFX had plenty of traffic at their booth. And, the hot ticket item for them was their SpatialRULES. Here’s what it is all about: streams of data from sensors and collection systems outpace the human capacity to detect and respond to rapidly changing conditions. SpatialRULES increases the fidelity of real-time collections by providing the means to separate high-value conditions from the “noise”. This increases the utilization of data without over tasking analysts, operators and watch officers. Read more here.

LizardTech Exhibits at the 2010 USGIF GEOINT Tech Days
LizardTech®, a division of Celartem Inc. and a provider of software solutions for managing and distributing geospatial content, announced they will be exhibiting in booth #205 at the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) GEOINT Tech Days held at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, Va. on May 20. “We look forward to exhibiting at this year’s conference and to sharing some of our most recent work on third-party application support for MrSID®with the intelligence community,” said Jon Skiffington, LizardTech’s director of marketing. “In particular, we’re excited to share the recent integration of our GeoExpress Raster DSDK into Applied Imagery’s Quick Terrain Modeler version 7.1.0. This is exciting news for our Department of Defense (DoD) customers who currently work with MrSID imagery and also use the Quick Terrain Modeler for terrain visualization. Sycamore.US Showcases TASER FC3 Integration and Deployment

Our friends at Sycamore.US is showcasing its TASER FC3 contract where they are serving as the prime. They will be servicing this contract with a number of different players including IBM, SMSi, L-3 Communications, Solers, In., SERCO and more. Sycamore specializes in software for Internet, client-server, and stand-alone environments. They provide software integration services to the Federal Government, aerospace, and financial markets. Envitia showcased its MapLink Pro, which was built from the ground up to provide high performance and flexible components for the most demanding of geospatial system. Overwatch Releases Latest Version of ELT/Series With Full Motion Video Support
Overwatch, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, today announced the latest release of its ELT/Series Geospatial Intelligence software, including the new full motion video extension, V-TRAC Basic. The ELT/Series software provides powerful imagery and geospatial exploitation tools for a wide range of applications, including tactical imagery and national geospatial analysis. The latest release, version 20.1, leverages a flexible architecture complemented by new extensions, such as V-TRAC Basic. V-TRAC Basic provides users of ELT/Series’ more advanced products, ELT/3500 and ELT/5500, the ability to receive and analyze full motion video collections and incorporate video analysis with other product extensions such as GeoCatalog and SpotLite. GeoCatalog enables analysts to easily create searchable databases for the organization and management of geospatial data.
